Abstract
An applicable synthesized bentonite was developed to treat high strength landfill leachate. Experimental results showed that the removal efficiency of COD Cr and color were 84% and 96 7%, when COD Cr and color in the effluent were 178 mg/L and 20 times respectively, and the initial concentrations were 1 126 mg/L and 600 times; suitable conditions for the treatment are pH6, stirring period of 20 min, synthesized bentonite concentration of 40 g/L. Synthesized bentonite is very effective for treatment of landfill leachate.
