Gradation of Strategic Objectives for General Development of West China

Based on the exploration of the historical background and foundation for the strategy of the exploitation of West China, this paper analyses the relationships between the strategy of the exploitation of West China and balanced regional economy development, the development of economic integration of the national market economy and the coordinated development of regional economy, stressing that the general exploitation of West China is an important part of the nationwide economic development strategy and balanced regional economy growth strategy. It is explicitly stated that the three progressive strategic targets which interact with each other in the strategic system of general exploitation of West China consist in giving priority to developing West China, accelerating the market development of West China, and promoting the coordinated development of West China (including the central part) and East China.
