Abstract
Taking the sucrose as the single substrate, the relation of the specific exogenous respiration rate and substrate-loading of activated sludge in different concentrations were investigated using a respirometry. The results show that the relation curves of the specific exogenous respiration rate and substrate-loading of activated sludge in different concentrations are quite similar, and the curves can be expressed with Michaelis-Menten equation. The maximum specific exogenous respiration rate of 35.043 7 mg/(g·h)andthe saturation constant of 1.006 1 are achieved.Besides, the specific endogenous respiration rate of 8.4 mg/(g·h) is measured.
