Abstract
Cohen noticed that there was a profound revolution of scientific communication mode during the process of scientific revolution. He believed that scientific revolution not only gave birth to new knowledge and new method to obtain it,but also led to the formation of new institutions that promote, record, and spread this knowledge-scientific communities. The research activities of scientists are more and more dependant on scientific communication medium, such as academic journals, various conferences, private phone call and correspondence. Therefore,Cohen particularly stresses the function of scientific communities as information network in the process of scientific communication.
