Abstract

IS/IT project selection is a multi-attribute decision-making(MADM) problem. Aimed to the shortcomings of traditional TOPSIS method for order preference by similarity to solution in calculating the weights and the lack of information during decision making,an improved TOPSIS based on grey theory was applied to the IS/IT project selection process. The weights and ratings were given by interval grey numbers. Then,a relative closeness was defined to determine the ranking order of all alternatives(IS/IT projects) by calculating the grey relational grade(GRG) of each alternative to the ideal and negative ideal solution simultaneously. Finally,a real case demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
