Abstract

Because of the exist of resistance in the chamber, transient water hammer wave can not suddenly expand,as a result, portion of it will enter into low pressure tunnel.Based on the boundary conditions and fundamental equations of water hammer wave, used characteristic method, calculated and analyzed a actual example. In this paper,a kind of relationship between the length of the tunnel and the coefficient of pressure transmission was involved such a problem.
