Abstract
Objective To study diabetic foot ulceration and its risk factors. Methods Cases analysis study, examination of foot conditions, knowledge score of diabetic foot care, and 46 related factors of diabetic foot ulceration were carried out and evaluated in 352 diabetic patients. Results The prevalence of diabetic foot ulceration was 12.78%,being 11.05% in diabetic patients aged 60 years and 14.14% in diabetic patients aged≥60 year. With logistic regression analysis the followings were independent foot ulcer-relating risk factors: male, diabetic neuropathy, microangiopathy,FBG,hypertension, absence of palpable foot pulse, ischemic symptoms of lower limbs, abnormal foot skin, deformity of foot nail and poor foot care knowledge. Conclusions Patients with high risk factors for foot ulceration should be paid more attention and regular complications screening, which may decrease foot ulceration and amputations.
