Abstract
Objective To observe circadian 24-hour rhythm of blood pressure fluctuation in senile patients with diabetes type Ⅱ accompanied with hypertension. Methods The cases of senile primary hypertension were divided into groups in terms of having or not having diabetes. The blood pressure was monitored successively and non-invasively.Results The night systolic pressure of senile diabetic patients accompanied with primary hypertension rose remarkably, P0.01, the difference of blood pressure between day and night and the rhythm change showed remarkable difference in comparison with those of senile patients suffering from hypertension alone. Conclusion The nocturnal blood pressure and heart rate of the patients suffering from diabetes and hypertension are kept at higher level as compared with those of the patients with hypertension alone, indicating that the function of diurnal and nocturnal blood pressure regulation is obviously damaged.
