Abstract
Through investigation of case history, microscopy and immunohistochemistry of 35 cases, the clinicopathological characteristics, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of canine mammary gland tumours were studied, and results showed the age of 34 patients were over 5 years, the crest-time was between 6 and 10 years old.51.4% cases were malignant tumours and 44.4% cases among them presented with metastatic.Immunohistochemistry indicated that normal mammary glands and benign tumors showed 100% immunoreactivity, with p63 expression restricted to myoepithelial cell nuclei. But 14 cases among malignant tumours were found a decrease of p63 expression and 3 cases with p63 negative.A mammary myoepithelial carcinoma and its metastatic showed strong positive. Therefore the detection of p63 could serve as an important index to estimate the biological behavior and prognosis of canine mammary gland tumours.
