A Study on the Recently Excavated Epitaph for Fan Xiang in Tang Dynasty

Abstract
The epitaph for Fan xiang of Tang dynasty newly excavated in Luoyang has important value. It provides some historical data about Fan xiang's dates of birth and death,native place,place in the imperial examination and official experience,which can make up for something unknown about Fan Xiang's life in the complete collection of Tang Poetry. The thing recorded in the epitaph about Fan Xiang's passing an imperial examination involves the fight between officials and the common people from the period of Changqing to Huichang in Tang dynasty,which has the value of historical materials.
