Effectiveness of proceed patch to repair the large defect after the resection of desmoid tumors in the abdominal wall

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of Proceed patch to repair the large defect after the resection of desmoid tumors in the abdominal wall.Methods The operative procedure to repair abdominal defects by Proceed patch and fellow-up data of 15 patients diagnosed as having desmoid tumors were analyzed retrospectively.Results After operation,seroma formation was detected in 3 cases.During the fellow-up,infection,hernia and local discomfort were not found.Conclusion Proceed patch had the advantages of anti-adhesion and low recurrence,which could be adopted in the operation of the resection of desmoid tumors in the abdominal wall.
