Abstract
This article studied the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite and pyrite and the effect of that calcium containing compounds on their flotabilities. It indicated that chalcopyrite has good flotability with the butyl- xanthogenate as a collector. That calcium containing compounds markedly depressed the flotation of pyrite while didn't affect the recovery of chalcopyrite,it showed good selectivity on the flotation in chalcopyrite and pyrite. chalcopyrite and pyrite can be separated effectively in the condition The depressing mechanism of the compounds to pyrite was investigated.
