Abstract
To improve acetone-butanol production efficiency by Clostridium acetobutylicum, acetic and butyric acid were added to the fermentation broth to investigate the effect on cell growth and production of acetone-butanol.Addition of 1.5 g/L acetic acid increased the cell growth and enhanced acetone production, the final concentration of acetone was 21.05%,and the butanol production was not improved.Addition of 1.0 g/L butyric acid increased the cell growth and enhanced butanol production, the final concentration of butanol was 24.32%,while the acetone production was not improved.
