Functions of numbers involve not only illustration and culture,but also description and rhetoric in literary works.The rhetorical devices employed by Lu Xun in his works,such as copying,portraying,performing and protruding mainly account for his style characterized by humor and satire.Authentic and vivid language can be achieved by using quantitative description.The analysis of numbers in Lu Xun's literary works is more likely to give rise to insights into quantitative description in literary works.
