Theories and Methods in Cultural Ecology

Cultural ecology reflects the concern of anthropology over environmental issues and the trend of interdisciplinary development.It is not only used in the study of simple village communities but also the great historic events,such as the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the dramatic changes in Eastern Europe.With further cross-cultural researches,cultural ecology is oriented towards ecosystem and ethno-ecology.Cultural ecology provides a new vision and methodology for cultural anthropology,sheds much light on the influences of culture on natural ecosystems from different spatial and temporal perspectives,and helps realize the sustainable utilization of ecosystems.
