Abstract
Objective The study was undertaken to investigate the effect of hemin on the CA1 neurons in the hippocampus of rats with global cerebral ischemia. Methods 24 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups.Globalbrain ischemia was produced by the fourvessels occlusion method. The death of neurons was examined with neuropathological evaluation under thionin staining. Results There was obvious DND in the CA1 area of the global brain ischemia group.Compared with the global brain ischemia group,Hemin therapy group was not any better(P0.05).Conclusion The results suggested that therapeutic administration of Hemin in any doses used had no protective effect on hippocampus of rats with global cerebral ischemia.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
