Abstract
Through a large number of geotechnical tests and theoretical analysis, the compaction characteristics, expansion characteristics and strength properties of lime stabilized expansive soil in Xiangfan-Hujiaying Section and their influence factors were analyzed. It is demonstrated the feasibility of lime stabilized expansive soil as the railway subgrade filling.A certain amount of cement can reduce the hydrophilic ability and expandability of expansive soil and improve its water stability.Lime stabilized expansive soil is less sensitive to water. Its strength will be improved with age and compaction factor increased.
