Abstract
Sophra japonica was extracted with 75% of alcohol to give crude extraction.Subsequently, rutin was separated, and quercetin was prepared by hydrolyzing rutin. Then free radical scavenging activities of them were tested with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH),and compared with BHT.The results indicated that crude extraction, rutin and quercetin showed strong free radical scavenging activities. The capability of DPPH radical scavenging was as follows:quercetincrude extractionrutinBHT.When the concentration was 0.5 mg/mL,the scavenging rate of quercetin, rutin and crude extraction would reach 83.75%、80.16% and 80.89%,respectively.When the concentration was 1.0 mg/mL,the scavenging rate of quercetin would reach 88.95%.
