Abstract

Objectives:To study the protective effects of Xingjiubaogan capsule against the alcohol liver injury in rats.Methods:Randomly distribute 60 male Wistar rats to control group,model group,and low-, middle-,high-dose groups of Xingjiubaogan capsule(200,400,1 200 mg/kg).Two months later,the body weight,serum total protein(TP),albumin(Alb),alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate transaminase (AST),triglyceride(TG),superoxide dismutase(SOD) contents,liver glutathione(GSH),glutathione perioxidase(GSH-Px) activities,malondialdehyde(MDA) content were determined and compared between groups.Results:Treatment with different doses of Xingjiubaogan capsule could significantly increase serum TP,Alb,SOD levels and(P0.05~0.01),and GSH,GSH-Px activities in liver tissue(P0.01),decrease serum ALT,AST,TG levels(P0.05~0.01) and MDA content in liver tissue(P0.05~0.01).Conclusions:The Xingjiubaogan capsule could ameliorate alcohol liver injury to different degrees in rats.
