Abstract

A multidisciplinary scientific project that was recently introduced into the curriculum of the Bachelor in Industrial Sciences is presented as an example of project-based education.Within the project, students carry out a multidisciplinary assignment co-operating in a project group under the supervision of a project coach. They solve a realistic and relevant professional problem resulting in a concrete specified final product. The educational framework of the course is described as well as the project assessment system.Process evaluation focuses on the development of six generic competences which are of great importance in the professional career of an engineer. Finally, the authors suggest some improvements for the near future.
