Abstract

Objective To investigate the influencing factors, clinical features and treatment improvement condition on pulmonary fungal infection in aged patients.Method Total 58 cases of pulmonary fungal infection patients age 62~78 years hospitalized in respiratory medicine from January 2007 to December 2009 were analyzed with retrospective method. Results For 48 cases (82.76%) of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,32 cases(55.17%) taking broadspectrum antibiotic for long time,24 cases(41.38%) of hypoproteinaemia and 18 cases(31.03%) associated diabetes were the vulnerable factors.Drug sensitive test indicated that the pathogenic bacteria gave priority to the Candida albicans(86.21%).Forty-three cases(74.14%) were recovered by antifungal treatment and 8 cases(13.79%) were improved. Conclusion There is no specific clinical feature in aged pulmonary fungal infection patients. The secondary infection of foundation sickness is the substantial clause on pulmonary fungal infection. The Candida albicans is the main pathogen on pulmonary fungal infection in hospitalized aged patients.Besides the effective antifungal treatment, the active complex treatment is helpful to improve the cure rate of mycotic infection.
