Abstract
Objective To study the chemical constituents of the leaves of Jatropha curcas L.in Hainan. Methods The petroleum ether extract Ⅰand Ⅱ were made from the leaves of Jatropha curcas by solvent extractiom method and silica column chromatography, and were isolated and identified by GC-MS method. Results 11 compounds were separated and identified which accounted for 98.00% of total extracts from the extract Ⅰ.The main chemical constituents were 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid, ethyl ester(41.49%),9,12-Octadecadienoic acid, ethyl ester(16.22%),Hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester(14.05%).13 compounds were separated and identified which accounted for 92.40% of total extracts from the extract Ⅱ.The main chemical constituents were Dioctyl phthalate(21.63%),5-Hexyl cyclopentanone(10.66%),1-Eicosanol(10.23%).The chemical constituents were different between the extract Ⅰand Ⅱ except Hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester. Conclusion This study provides scientific foundations for exploitment and utilization of the leaves of Jatropha curcas.
