Abstract
A series of qualitative experiment of roselle calyx red pigment was done so that the chemical structure of the pigment was appraised preliminarily. The results showed that the roselle calyx pigment was a kind of anthocyanin with pyrocatechol and pyrogallol hydroxyl, as well as had glucose and xylose glycoside. The main body structure was delphinidin and cyanidin.
