Abstract
OBJECTIVES To know the status of primary public health services supplied to the urban and rural residents and their needs in He'nan,and to provide a basis for policy formulation.METHODS A cross-sectional study was used,including completing questionnaires in 4 cities by 499 urban and rural residents.There are 251 urban residents and 248 rural residents.At the same time,in-depth interviews were conducted with staff of cities and counties(districts).21 from health bureaus,22 from disease control and preventions and 13 from primary health services institutes.RESULTS There are differences between urban and rural residents objectively,including education,health care system and family economic situation.The accessibility to primary public health services and acceptance status are different.The burden of disease and many other factors lead to different needs.CONCLUSIONS The primary public health service in He'nan has been started to supply.Differences exist on the service acceptance between urban and rural areas.Supplements still can not meet the needs of urban and rural residents.
