Abstract

Due to the selectivity, reversibility and dynamics of the non-covalent bond, the supramolecular polymer is well suited for application as a self-healing material with smart features, like sense and response capabilities. The self-healing mechanism of supramolecular polymers is achieved through non-covalent bond interactions, so-called the formation and dissociation of supramolecular structure. In this paper, the self-healing behavior of supramolecular polymers was introduced, such as hydrogen bonding supramolecular polymers, ?-? stacking supramolecular polymers, metal coordination type supramolecular polymers and topological type supramolecular polymers.
