Analysis of 177 Cases with Lung Cancer with Brain Metastasis

Abstract

Objective To explore the prognostic factors of Lung cancer with brain metastasis.Methods The clinical data of 177 lung cancer patients with brain metastasis in our hospital from January 2004 to December 2006 were retrospectively reviewed.Results The age,pathology type,number of brain metastasis,absence or presence of extracranial metastases,control of primary lung cancer,and performance status were not prognostic factors to overall survival(P0.05).Patients treated with radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy had significantly higher 1,2,and 3 year survival rate than chemotherapy alone(P0.05).Conclusion Lung cancer with brain metastasis should be treated with radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy.
