Abstract
Analysis on the Laohutan reservoir eutrophication state was made through the study of nitrogen,phosphorus and the ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus( N / P,an index of stoichiometry). Some prevention measures were proposed according to the eutrophication status and characteristics of the reservoir. The results showed that the reservoir was in the aerobic and weak alkaline environment; the nitrate nitrogen was the main existing form of total nitrogen,and insoluble phosphorus accumulated and deposited at the bottom of reservoir. The reservoir was restricted by phosphorus because of the low phosphorus content.
