Abstract
The present method of producing nitrogen and oxygen through air separation process was introduced in this paper. It was an effective solution to meet the needs of nitrogen and oxygen on a ship by installing air separation unit, using the cabin air as raw materials and site preparation. At present, combustion, pressure swing adsorption, membrane separation and cryogenic were four main methods of air separation technology. The four process principles, the implementation process, the feature and the adaptability of the ship were analyzed and compared. The current technical difficulties to be resolved were proposed. In the ship design process, the appropriate gas preparation technology and the equipments were selected according to the needs and the specific task of the ship.
