Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effects of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in elderly patients. Methods A total of 158 elderly patients receiving cholecystectomy in our hospital from November 2003 to November 2011 were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was given laparotomy cholecystectomy and observation group was given laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The operative time, intraoperative blood loss, gastrointestinal recovery time, hospital stay and occurrence of postoperative complications were analyzed. Results Compared with control group, operative time and intraoperative blood loss of observation group were significantly reduced, gastrointestinal recovery time and hospital stay significantly shortened, and the rate of occurrence of bile duct injury, bile leakage, bile duct stenosis and heart failure significantly decreased, the differences were statistically significant ( P 0.05). Conclusion Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a safe and effective treatment method that can significantly improve the patient's symptoms and improve their quality of life. It has significant clinical importance and is worthy of promotion.
