Abstract
ZK60 magnesium alloy was prepared by reciprocating extrusion with different passes. The microstructure evolution with reciprocating extrusion passes was researched. The results show that, for 4-extruded ZK60-CT magnesium alloy, grains are about 6 μm equiaxed grain, precipitates are fine and uniform. The microstructure of 1-extruded ZK60-CT is not stable, reciprocating extrusion is advantageous to improve the microstructure stability of ZK60 magnesium alloy. The refining mechanism of repeated extruded ZK60-CT magnesium alloy is DRX refining and particle refining.
