Abstract
ObjectiveTo evaluate the changes of Ag-NORs in patients with gallbladder carcinoma.MethodsAg-NORs in the peripheral blood lymphocytes,bile lymphocytes and the mucosa of gallbladder were detected by a cell image analysis of KL-2 in 20 normal volunteers,90 cholecystitis cases, and 20 gallbladder carcinomas. ResultsAg-NORs in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) and bile lymphocytes (BL) in cholecystitis were lower than that in normal group(P0 01),but higher than in cases of carcinomas(P0 01),the expression rates of the Ag-NOR in gallbladder mucosa in cholecystitis were higher than that in the normal group(P0 01), lower than in the carcinoma group(P0 01). Ag-NORs in PBLs and BLs decreased and Ag-NOR in the mucosa of gallbladder increased steadily alongside the changes of gallbladder mucosa from hyperplasia, dysplasia to carcinoma. There was a linear relationship between the Ag-NORs in PBLs, BLs and the mucosa of gallbladder(P0 01).ConclusionAg-NORs in PBLs, BLs and the mucosa of gallbladder may well be a new tumor marker for gallbladder carcinoma.
