Advancing towards Post-Yangtze-River-Delta Era: Analysis of the Development Trends of the Yangtze River Delta & Its Main Characteristics

AbstrcatStarting from the concept of post-Yangtze-River-Delta Era, the paper clearly points out the new pattern of the development of the economic society in the Yangtze River Delta. The fundamental characteristics of post-Yangtze-River-Delta are that Shanghai will continue to develop fast but its function as a key city will be weakened, that the sustained, rapid development of its neighboring regions will gain on that of Shanghai, and that the Yangtze River Delta will become an organic whole for sequential competition, close cooperation and optimized element allocation. Under this new pattern, understanding and trust between the regions must be promoted, the unanimity of policies boosted, the coordination of planning stressed and the entirety of infrastructure strengthened, so as to further speed up the development of the Yangtze River Delta.
