Abstract
Perilla frutescens, an annual herb, is an important medical and edible plant. In the paper, we firstly studied the effect of the pressure, the temperature, the CO 2 flowing and extracting time on extraction of the volatile oil of its leaves with supercritical CO 2 , and determined its optimal extracting conditions: the pressure 20 Mpa, the temperature 45 ℃, CO 2 flowing rate30 kg/h and the time 100 min. The volatile oils were obtained by supercritical CO 2 and steam distillation, extraction rates are 5.13% and 0.415% respectively. The rate of the former is higher, and its time is shorter.
