Abstract

The dynamic response of layered pavement structure under heavy-loads is analyzed by using the three-dimensional(3D) finite-element method and the orthogonal test in conjunction with ANSYS software. The results show that the thickness of pavement layers is a major factor in affecting vertical dynamic stress distribution. The elastic modules of asphalt concrete have a great influence on the integral stiffness and maximum shear stress in asphalt concrete pavement, and there is a cross impact between the elastic modulus, the Poisson ratio and the thickness of pavement layers. The results can be used for references in asphalt pavement design and the uses of pavement materials.
