Abstract

The initial gas flow distribution of blast furnace is an important factor that influences the whole gas flow distribution. The initial gas flow is mainly controlled by blast system. In order to ascertain the effect of blast parameters on initial gas flow distribution, three parameters,i.e.tuyere diameter, blast volume and pulverized coal injection were studied by numerical simulation. The results showed as follows:decreasing tuyere diameter and increasing blast volume could improve the velocity of gas flow in hearth center;adjusting tuyere diameter was better than blast volume from the viewpoint of blast penetration. However,to restain the clockwise whirlpool, adjusting blast volume was better.Pulverized coal injection could obviously increase the velocity of gas flow above the raceway, while the velocity of gas flow in hearth center changed little.
