Virtual instruments and its application to remote measurement and monitoring system

With the development of the modern science and technology,many defects of the traditional testing instruments have been exposed.By the end of the 20th century,the concepts of the Virtual Instruments have been come up with by the NI Corporation in the United States,which resulted in the revolution in measurement and monitoring technology.The definitions of the Virtual Instruments,their components as well as superiorities to traditional testing instruments were represented in this paper.And also some characteristics of the LabVIEW,the representative language of Virtual Instruments,were introduced in this paper.The application to remote measurement and monitoring system was also proposed.Finally,conclusion and recommendations for further investigation were given in this paper.
