Abstract

Retinal structure and characteristics of Lasiopodomys mandarinus were studied by using H-E.staining and immunohistochemical method. The results showed that the structure of retina in Lasiopodomys mandarinus exhibited typical structure of vertebrates, including retinal pigment epithelium(RPE),rod cone layer(PRL),outer nuclear layer(ONL),outer plexiform layer(OPL),inner nuclear layer(INL),inner plexiform layer(IPL),ganglion cell layer(GCL),and nerve fiber layer(NFL) from outside to inside. The distribution of positive NSE in the retina localized mainly in IPL,INL,the area near INL in OPL,GCL,and NFL,of which IPL was the most positive, and four positive sub-layers could be seen.Distribution of positive NSE was not found in PRL and ONL,which might be related to the secretion of photoreceptor cells.
