Abstract
Based on the accuracy of type 59 radiosonde in common use, this paper analyzes its measuring error and its limitation on accuracy of radiowave refraction correction when it measures atmospheric structure. The result shows that the error of atmospheric measurement reduces with increasing altitude and the accuracy of refraction correction increases with increasing elevation angle. The residual error for radiowave refraction correction induced by radiosonde is lower than 1.1% when the elevation angle is above 1°.
