Abstract
Objective To explore the value of endoscopic sinus surgery in the treatment of fungal sinusitis. Methods Twenty four patients with fungal sinusitis went under the endoscopic sinus surgery.During the operation, the lesions in the sinus were removed completely, and sinus ostia were kept drainage unblocked. All the patients were followed up without antifungal agents. Results In the 1~1.5 years follow-up,there were 23 patients cured except one patient recurred. Conclusion Due to the superiority of endoscopic sinus surgery, such as keeping the normal function of nasal cavity, easy to follow-up,higher curative ratio and lower recurrence rate, which have been consider an ideal treatment for fungal sinusitis and have almost replaced the traditional maxillary sinusotomy.
