Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of bispectral index(BIS) guided target control injection(TCI) of propofol at extubation period of general anesthetic.Methods One hundred general anesthetic patients were randomly divided into two groups: propofol group(n=50) and control group(n=50).After operation,the plasma concentration of propofol was set at 1.74 ug/ml.The value of BIS at which the feedback control started was set at 65.TCI started as the value of BIS was over 65.Control group stopped the use of TCI at extubation period,administered 50mg bemegride and extubated until the patient could open eyes as wanted and complete the command activities.The propofol group continued the use of TCI and stopped the use of TCI in one minute of post-extubation.Results BIS guided TCI of propofol at extubation period could reduce cardiovascular responses evidently and decrease the incidence of complications with little effect on respiratory system.Conclusions Extubation of general anesthetic can be completed smoothly with the use of BIS guided TCI of propofol.
