Abstract

[Objective]To study the structure of carotid artery in patients with hypertension and hemodynamic characteristics.[Methods]75 patients with primary hypertension were divided into 3 groups according to blood pressure levels, namely high blood pressure 1,Level 2 and Level 3 groups. Each group had 25 cases.25 healthy people were included as controls.Two-dimensional ultrasound was performed for all of them in common carotid artery, carotid bifurcation, internal carotid artery of a thickness(intima media thickness,IMT),plaque detection rate, systolic and diastolic period by the observed neck artery plaque;Doppler ultrasound was performed to measuring carotid artery peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic peak velocity(EDV),mean velocity(Vmean),resistance index(RI)and pulsatility index(PI).[Results]The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and pulse pressure and carotid artery had certain association;Patients with hypertension had thicker membrane of carotid artery than that of health people, and classification of hypertension increased with the thickness inner film;plaque were significantly higher than that of control group, and was increased with the grade of hypertension(P﹤0.05).PSV,EDV,V mean,RI,PI,stiffness and dispensability of hypertension groups and neck hemodynamics showed significantly difference compared with those in control group(P﹤0.05),The hypertension in each group increased with the classification of blood pressure.[Conclusion]Ultrasound carotid artery in patients with different levels of hypertension and hemodynamic changes had significantly effect for diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and cerebral vascular disease.
