Abstract
In this paper, the shading effects on the photosynthesis of strawberry cultivar Jingyao were investigated. The results showed that shading could reduce the parameters of strawberry leaves, including carboxylation efficiency(CE),dark respiration rate(Rd),light saturation point(LSP) and light compensation point(LCP),and increase the apparent quantum yield(AQY) and the CO2 compensation point(CCP).Additionally the net photosynthetic rate(Pn) of strawberry under natural environment became a single-peak,and the daily accumulation of photosynthate decreased compared with those without shading. The water use efficiency(WUE) of strawberry under the treatment of shading decreased in the morning and increased in the evening. The enhancement of leaf stomatal conductance(Gs) and the declining transpiration rate(Tr) might be related with the lower temperature after shading. These results indicated that shading was indeed beneficial for strawberry growth and alleviated photosynthetic photoinhibition.
