Abstract
Anaerobic hybrid reactor(AHR) with an effective volume of 18.55 m3 was used to treat low-strength and low-temperature combined municipal sewage. The pilot-scale experiment results show that the removal rates of SS and COD attain 84.5% and 36.13% respectively when the hydraulic retention time(HRT) is 3.9 hours and the temperature is between 9.5 ℃ and 12 ℃.The proportion of SCOD in total COD increases from 49.69% in the influent to 73.08% in the effluent, and the biodegradability is improved. When the ratio of COD/SO2-4 is 1.60 which means that SO2-4 is abundant,sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB) are more predominant than methane-producing bacteria(MPB) and the removal rate of SO2-4 attains 73.26%.Therefore,it can be concluded that AHR is suitable for pretreatment of low-temperature combined municipal sewage.
