Comparative Superiority of Land Use and Regional Industry Structure Adjustment

The purpose of this paper is to measure and compare the comparative superiority of industrial land use in three economic regions in China.From the comparative superiority theory,it constructed the comparative superiority index model of different industries based on comparative superiorities of industrial land calculated out according to the statistics of 31 provinces(autonomous regions,municipalities) from 2000 to 2004,and further contrasted regional differences.The results showed that the land use efficiencies of the primary,secondary and service industries all show comparative superiority in the east region of China while the efficiency of the primary industry has comparative superiority in the middle region,and the efficiency of the secondary and service industries have comparative superiorities in the west.It is concluded that the comparative superiorities of land use in three industries are benchmarks for regional industrial structure adjustment.
