Abstract
Objective The present study aims to observe the damage of hippocampus, striatum and cortical neurons after transient forebrain ischemia in the rat. Methods The ischemic model with clamp bilateral carotid artery was made. Neuronal damage was studied by a seguential TUNEL technique. Results Necrosis and apoptosis could be found in rat at different intervals following transient forebrain ischemia. The morphological changes of hippocampus neurons showed worse than others. The number of necrosis of neurons were not increased at 2 days after ischemia. Conclusion Transient forebrain ischemia can give rise to the nerosis and apoptosis of the brain. The sensitity to ischemia reperfusion damage in different cerebral region showed most unlike.
