Abstract
[Objective]This study attempted to investigate the current status of agricultural modernization in Guangxi and analyze its developmental paths by evaluating the indexes of agricultural modernization. [Method]Factor analysis was used to evaluate the agricultural modernization in Guangxi by 15 indexes. Based on the analysis results, the corresponding development paths was put forward. [Result]At present, the indicators of agricultural modernization, including social and economic development level, agricultural investment level, and farmers’ living standard, showed slight advantage over the indicators, including agricultural production level and agricultural ecological environmental quality. The favorable conditions for realizing agricultural modernization in Guangxi included high social and economic development level, agricultural investment level, rural productivity level, and farmers’ living standard. However, low rate of the farmland irrigation, low grain yield per unit, large income gap between urban and rural population, and poor agricultural ecological environmental quality restricted the further improvement of agriculture modernization in Guangxi. [Suggestion]It was suggested that in order to expand the agricultural modernization, necessary growth factors, including development of ecological, circular, characteristic, and brand agriculture, formations of rural cooperative organizations, increase farmer trainings, and increase basic public service in the rural area, should be put forward by the government.
