Abstract
This paper introduces the fault location methods of transmission line at present and the fault location network on fault generated traveling waves baesd on MIS for 500 kV transmission line in North China.It is considered that the fault location on fault generated traveling waves has vast application perspective on 500 kV transmission line through the comparison of real location and result measured by fault location device on fault generated traveling waves when fault occurs on 500 kV transmission line.
