Abstract

The SPY gene in plasma DNA extracted from pregnancy goats was amplified by taking the elongation factor 1 alpha(EF-1α) as CK to determine fetal sex rapidly and to provide the scientific basis for genetic hereditary defect detection and embryo transfer in livestock. The results showed that the SRY gene fragment in plasma DNA of 13 pregnancy goats was amplified in 15 pregnancy goats with male fetus and its detection rate was up to 86.67%(13/15),the SRY gene fragment was not detected from plasma DNA of pregnancy goats with female fetus, and the accuracy rate of detecting female and male fetus was 92.86%(26/28).
