Reflections on Literary Criticism in the New Century

The author places three hopes on how to boom literary criticism in the new century,proceeding from the history of the complicated development of Chinese literary criticism in the 20 th century.One is that the scientific theory of literary criticism should be sought to expect literary critics to heighten the self construction of literary criticism and keep the independent criteria of literary critical discourses in the blending and conformity of the Chinese and western cultures;another is that variety of literary criticisms should be encouraged to make literary critical methods,types of literary critics,voices and styles of criticisms truly diversified at different levels;the last is that prejudice in literary criticism should be strictly avoided,expecting literary critics to free themselves from the fetters of fame and gain,overcome their grievances to each other and treat objects of criticism without any prejudice.
