Abstract
In a case study in Huangtian area, Fuling, Chongqing, natural conditions and land-use characters in karst ridge-trough are analyzed, and primary factors restricted sustainable agricultural development in karst region are regarded as both serious rock-desertification on farmland and lower capacity to water resource use. Then, the key and technology in land arrangement in karst ridge-trough are discussed. It is concluded from this analysis that terracing and irrigation works are keys in land arrangement in karst ridge-trough and must be integrated with construction for eco-environment according to both studies on the condition and potentialities of land-use and calculating on the balance between supply and demand of water resource in the future.
